Getting Started with Premium

Setting up premium features involves three steps: purchase, register, and sign in.

Step 1: Purchase a Subscription

1. Visit the pricing page
   Go to jtpowertools.com/#pricing
2. Choose your tier
   Select Essential, Pro, or Power User based on your team's needs
3. Complete checkout on Gumroad
   You'll receive an email confirmation with your license key

Step 2: Register on the Portal

The JT Power Tools Portal is where you manage your organization, invite team members, and configure API access.

1. Go to the registration page
   Visit app.jtpowertools.com/register
2. Enter your Gumroad license key
   Paste the license key from your purchase confirmation email
3. Create your account
   Enter your email, display name, and choose a password (8+ characters)
4. You're registered!
   Your account is now linked to your subscription and ready to use

Step 3: Sign Into the Extension

1. Open the JT Power Tools popup
   Click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar
2. Scroll to the Account section
   At the bottom of the popup, find the Account panel
3. Click "Sign In"
   Enter the email and password you used on the portal
4. Premium features unlock instantly
   Features for your subscription tier become available. Toggle them on!

Setting Up Your Team

Premium subscriptions cover your entire company. Here's how to get your team set up:

Inviting Team Members

1. Sign into the portal
   Go to app.jtpowertools.com/dashboard.html
2. Open the Team section
   Find the team management area on your dashboard
3. Invite members by email
   Enter each team member's email address. They'll receive an invitation to create their own account.

1. Install the extension
   Install from Chrome Web Store
2. Create your account
   Open the extension popup, scroll to the Account section, and click "Create one" to register
3. Sign in
   Use your email and password to sign in. Premium features for your company's tier will unlock automatically.

Managing Your Account

The JT Power Tools Portal

The portal at app.jtpowertools.com is your central hub for:

• Team Management — Invite members, manage roles
• MCP Configuration — Set up AI assistant connections (Power User tier)
• Subscription Management — Links to manage your Gumroad subscription

Checking Your License Status

1. Open the JT Power Tools popup
2. Look at the Account section at the bottom
3. When signed in, you'll see your display name and subscription tier
4. Premium feature toggles show badges for which tier they require

Signing Out

To sign out of the extension on a device:

1. Open the extension popup
2. Scroll to the Account section
3. Click "Sign Out"
4. Premium features will be disabled on that device

Forgot Your Password?

1. Open the extension popup and go to the Account section
2. Click "Sign In", then click "Forgot password?"
3. Enter the email you registered with
4. Check your email for a password reset link (check spam/junk folders too)
5. Click the link and set a new password

How License Verification Works

Authentication Flow

JT Power Tools uses a secure account-based authentication system:

1. You sign in with your email and password in the extension
2. Credentials are verified through a secure proxy server (HTTPS encrypted)
3. A session token is stored locally in your browser
4. The token automatically refreshes to keep you signed in
5. Your subscription tier is checked periodically to keep features in sync

Privacy & Security

• Secure proxy server — All authentication goes through an encrypted proxy; your credentials never touch third-party APIs directly
• No JobTread data transmitted — The extension never sends your JobTread information anywhere
• Local session storage — Your sign-in session is stored locally in your browser
• No tracking or analytics — We don't track your usage

Cancellations & Refunds

How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription anytime through Gumroad:

1. Go to your Gumroad library
   Visit gumroad.com/library and sign in
2. Find JT Power Tools
   Locate your subscription in your purchases
3. Click "Cancel Subscription"
   Follow the prompts to cancel future billing

After Cancellation

• Access continues until billing period ends — If you cancel mid-month, premium features stay active until the end of your current billing period
• Your account persists — Your portal account and settings remain intact. If you resubscribe later, everything picks up where you left off.
• Free features always available — All free features continue working regardless of subscription status
• Resubscribe anytime — Go back to jtpowertools.com/#pricing to resubscribe

Refunds

Contact Gumroad support for refund requests on recent charges. Refunds are handled by Gumroad per their refund policy.

License Terms

What You Can Do

• Use on unlimited devices within your company or organization
• Invite all employees to create accounts under your subscription
• Use for commercial and personal projects
• Install on work and home computers

What You Cannot Do

• Share your account or subscription with other companies or organizations
• Resell or redistribute access to third parties
• Reverse engineer the license verification system

Company/Business Licensing

The licensing model is designed for company-wide use:

• One subscription per company — A single monthly subscription covers your entire organization
• Individual accounts for each person — Each team member gets their own login with personal settings
• Unlimited installations — Install on as many company devices as needed
• Centralized management — The account owner manages the team through the portal

Troubleshooting

Can't Sign In

• Make sure you're using the email you registered with on the portal
• Double-check your password — it's case-sensitive
• Use "Forgot password?" to reset if needed
• If you haven't registered yet, click "Create one" in the sign-in form, or register on the portal

Password Reset Email Not Arriving

• Check your spam/junk folder
• Make sure you're entering the correct email address
• Wait a few minutes — emails can sometimes be delayed
• Try the reset again if the first attempt doesn't arrive
• Contact support if the issue persists

"License is no longer active" Error

• Your Gumroad subscription may have expired or been cancelled
• Check your subscription status at gumroad.com/library
• If you recently resubscribed, sign out and back in to refresh your session
• Contact support if your subscription is active but the error persists

Premium Features Not Working After Sign-In

• Verify your tier shows correctly in the popup (Essential, Pro, or Power User)
• Make sure the feature toggles are turned ON
• Refresh the JobTread page
• Try signing out and back in
• Check that you're on app.jobtread.com

"Account already exists" When Registering

• An account with that email already exists — try signing in instead
• If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot password?" link
• If someone else in your company already registered with that license key, ask them to invite you from the portal

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the new account system different from the old license key system?

Previously, companies shared a single license key that each person entered into the extension. Now, the account owner registers once with the license key on the portal, then invites team members. Each person gets their own login, their own settings, and cross-device sync.

Is the license a subscription?

Yes, all tiers are monthly or annual subscriptions through Gumroad. Cancel anytime.

What's the difference between tiers?

Each tier builds on the previous one. Essential adds productivity tools (Quick Notes, Freeze Header, etc.), Pro adds customization and schedule features (Custom Themes, Task Checkboxes, etc.), and Power User adds API-powered features (Job Switcher Filter, Budget Changelog, MCP Server).

Can I upgrade my tier later?

Yes! Start with any tier and upgrade anytime. Visit the pricing page to switch to a higher tier.

Can I use it on multiple computers?

Yes! Sign in with your account on any computer where you've installed the extension. Your settings sync automatically.

How do I get my team set up?

After registering on the portal, go to the Team section and invite members by email. Each team member installs the extension and signs in with their own account. Premium features unlock automatically based on your subscription tier.

What if I forget my password?

Click "Forgot password?" in the extension sign-in form. You'll receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

Do I need internet to use premium features?

Internet is required for sign-in and for API-powered features (Job Switcher Filter, Budget Changelog, MCP Server). Other premium features work offline after you're signed in.

What happens if I cancel and resubscribe later?

Your portal account and settings are preserved. When you resubscribe with a new license key, your account is reactivated and premium features unlock again.

Will new features cost extra?

New features are added to the appropriate tier. Your subscription includes access to all features in your tier and below, including new ones as they're released.
